Detailed Introduction of Vespel® SP-1
Core Properties:
·Thermal Performance: Continuous operating temperature up to 260°C (500°F), short-term use temperature up to 482°C (900°F). It maintains excellent toughness even at cryogenic temperatures as low as -269°C (-452°F), with a glass transition temperature of 143°C and a melting point of 385°C.
·Mechanical Strength: Boasts superior mechanical properties among unfilled PI materials, with high tensile strength, excellent impact resistance (notched Izod impact strength: 12 kJ/m²), and outstanding creep resistance and fatigue resistance, ensuring long-term stable performance under static and dynamic loads. Electrical Insulation: Exceptional dielectric properties, with a dielectric constant of 3.5 (1 MHz), dielectric strength of 20 kV/mm, and low dielectric loss (tanδ = 0.002 at 1 MHz), making it an excellent electrical insulation material for high-frequency and high-voltage applications.
·Chemical Resistance: Resistant to most acids, bases, organic solvents, aviation fuels, hydraulic oils, and other harsh chemical media. It also has excellent hydrolysis resistance and aging resistance, suitable for long-term use in corrosive environments.
·Other Advantages: Complies with FDA food contact standards and biocompatibility requirements for certain medical applications. It is a thermosetting material that requires isostatic pressing or direct forming (DF) processes, and can be machined into precision components with stable dimensional accuracy.
